Face (continued)
3. sweat + water = disaster. Don't shower immediately after sweating.. Results in breakouts, white "spots" and other skin ailments.
4. as for facial foams, makeup, lotions and whatnot, u shud approach salespersons on site at the shops (e.g watsons or whichever beauty product brands u like). Appraoch them for advice on ur skin type because not doing so = waste time + waste money + spoil ur skin. For me, I use kinda expensive products, but they worked in e long term for me. My advice generally is, there are no miracle pills. To acheive the results u want, u need patience and determination to carry out the routine everyday. wash face, apply 3 kind of moisturisers for my routine.
5. when applying lotion to ur face, rub it in LIGHTLY from neck upwards to ur eyebrows. u dun wan ur skin to sag, and it WILL sag if u keep rubbing ur lotion downwards.
6. always wash ur makeup brushes cuz brushes tend tocollect all the gross stuff on ur face and bacteria multiplies as a result. Oh and I don't buymakeup brush cleansers/soap cuz they're generally too expensive for a small bottle. (e.g $15 for one bottle of makeup brush soap at M.A.C)
Body1. Everyone shud use mositurizers regardless of whether they have dry normal or oily skin. Cuz most of us live in air-con environments (e.g sch lecture halls). Air con sucks the moisture out of ur skin and leaves ur skin dry, which increases the speed of aging and wrinkles, also leads to dull skin. Moisturizers i recommend cheap brands cuz I like to spam them. I especially like Follow Me body lotion with Spf15 cuz it has a nice smell and has UV block, costed me 8 bucks for a bottle.
2.Exfoliation should be done once a week so that ur skin remains smooth and "shiny", not shiny la, just not dull looking. If u like cheap stuff,
-juz use a lemon squeeze out the juice(for lemonade later), keep the rind (is it called rind?)
-sprinkle the insides of the rind wif salt, wait for the lemon to become a little mushy due to e salt and
-rub it on ur skin for exfoliation.
citric acid in Lemons are natural skin whiteners and the rind somehow moisturizes ur skin (i have no idea how) and salt is a good way to remove dead skin cells. Don't think exfoliation very good hor. U keep exfoliate ur skin become dry and gross.. So once a week is enuf.
OR
-prepare olive oil, honey, sugar and a mini tupperware container for mixing and keeping. (I dun really like this method cuz my mom likes to buy expensive honey and I dun wanna waste it)
-2 or 3 tablespoon(depends on ur liking) olive oil, 2 tablespoon honey, 1/2 cup sugar.
-mix all 3 ingres and u have a nice scrub
-olive oil 1st cuz the oil coats the spoon den later when u scoop honey, not so hard to dump the honey out.
Hands1. moisturize ur hand at the very least cuz ur hand is subject to so many germs and the environment.. of cuz hand de skin will get dry e fastest.
2. for a perfect DIY mani or pedi do the following steps..
1) cut ur nails into the desired shape
2) soak ur hands in warm water
3) soak le skin soft, easy to trim cuticles. use a small scissors and trim ur cuticles. Cuz if u dont, the dead skin gets in the way of u painting ur nails
4) push back the cuticles at the bottom and side of ur nails with a nail file (or anything with a flat tip if ur lazy like me). This ensures that ur mani or pedi lasts longer.
5) paint ur nails blah blah. Den apply cuticle oil to ensure that cuticles dun grow bak so fast.
6) MOISTURISE UR HANDS!
Feet1. Cracked heels. I don't have this prob but for ppl who do.. cracked heels are disgusting and u look gross wearing slippers/heels with cracked heels. For maximum healing results, wash ur feet with warm water and soap before sleep, apply olive oil (i told u olive oil got like super alot of uses) or moisturizer to ur heels, both works. Optional: Wear with socks to bed to lock in the moisturizer for maximum healing.
2. wear covered shoes with socks as often as possible cuz socks help to auto exfoliate ur heels and also make sure that ur heels aren't exposed to the environment. Cracked heels are a result of dead skin + sweat + dirt from roads resulting in dry skin on ur feet -> wrinkles on feet -> and the wrinkles get deeper cuz the dirt collects more and more and finally, cracked heels. Gross yes? So take care of ur feet. these 2 method take time, so be patient. Store bought "heel files" that file away ur skin results in a major buildup of hard dead skin cells on ur feet in the long run, so I do not recommend "filing" ur dead skin cells on ur feet regularly.
